Because We Are Smooth

Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf

I was devastated when the lone Seattle’s Best in Eastwood closed.  I will miss getting my caffeine fix as I enter the building thinking about the long day ahead.  Small double iced latte to go was my weapon of choice.  I like the bitter taste amidst the creaminess of the cold milk.  Yummy.  I would get a chicken empanada with it, if I feel like it.  Or a cinnamon roll.  I am starving.

That was a couple of months ago.  I started going to Starbucks or Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in either Citywalk or 1880.  The latter is my current favorite.  I got tired of the limited ice blends in Starbucks that one day, I decided to switch doors.  I would get a medium Extreme Ultimate Mocha with whip, Chef’s Tuna Sandwich and a Triple Decker Cheesecake.  Or a mudpie.  Or a moist chocolate pie.  Oh my yum.  Most of the time, you have the option to pick the bread for your sandwich.  They have ciabatta, panini, wheat, or white bread.  You can also go light on your drinks with sugar substitutes or by skipping the cream.  Good for those who are watching their weight or simply trying to live healthy.
